In my experience as a family portrait photographer for over 35 years, I believe the best portraits should feel real and natural. You deserve family portraits that you can look back on for years and they should never look ‘dated’ or out of style. My goal in every session is to create images that show genuine expressions and real moments with heart, not just perfectly posed and stagnant.
Getting great portraits takes a little planning. I’ll help you with wardrobe suggestions, and we’ll discuss location ideas, whether it’s the desert, grass and trees, forest, an edgy urban vibe, something rustic, water features, or a simple home session. I want your session to be relaxed and fun, while still using professional photography skills in lighting, posing and expression coaching to make it all come together.
Capturing Genuine Moments
When photographing children, I love to allow them to be themselves. I want to encourage natural interactions with their surroundings, allowing their personalities to be the major influence in the image. While I love incorporating props, I will never allow them to take over the image. Photography of children should be playful, spontaneous, and fun, creating moments that reflect who they are at this stage of life.
For both family and children’s sessions, I take a relaxed yet intentional approach. I’ll guide you through poses that look natural while ensuring they remain flattering. Think of it as organized chaos—the perfect balance between structure and authenticity. Whether it’s a playful moment between the kids, a heartfelt hug, or spontaneous laughter, I want to create images that truly represent your family.
Portrait Packages
We offer a wide variety of portrait packages. Whether you’re looking for simple loose prints, or beautiful, custom storytelling albums, we’ve got you covered. Every purchased image is fully edited including blemishes, baby drool, scars, double chins and any distractions we don’t like. All our packages include a digital copy of any purchased portrait.
